A childhood friend of Azula, Ty Lee ran away from home to join the circus in order to establish her own identity distinct from a multitude of otherwise identical sisters. Her exceptional agility makes her an very difficult target to hit, and her knowledge of chi flow enable her to disrupt benders from using their abilities. Her best friend Mai had a privileged but unremarkable upbringing, with plenty of spare time to become proficient at throwing all manner of various sharp objects. Deadly with knives, shuriken, and even shards of glass, Mai will take any fight as an opportunity to escape the monotony of day-to-day life.

Re: Ty Lee and Mai
Dare I say I think this deck may become the hallmark on which to base future "major personality minor" decks (e.g. Asajj & Durge, Mario & Luigi). Without sacrificing much on either side, both characters have ample game of their own, and the two relate and coordinate superbly.
(I would have made Mai the major, though.)

Re: Ty Lee and Mai
I like the way this deck turned out, and I think it represents the dynamic between Ty Lee and Mai -- and their combat -- quite well. Shuriken Spread is the only really powerful card, but all the others (possible exception to Assassin's Precision) can be situationally exceptional, giving it the strategic flavor I aim for.
Re: Ty Lee and Mai
Post-Boiling Rock, I'd tend to agree about Mai being the major, but the greatest motivation for making her the minor was to avoid having a ranged major with a melee minor, a combination I dislike (but just couldn't work around in Aang's case).
